Electoral Board Says By-elections Held in Peaceful and Smooth Manner

Addis Ababa, February 28, 2011 (Addis Ababa) -
The Ethiopian Electoral Board of Ethiopia said the by-election held on Sunday was held in better was than the previous by-elections.

The process of the by-election was conducted in a good manner and with any complaints from any side, Yeshi Fekade, Public Relations Coordination Head with the Board said in a news conference she gave here on Monday.

The by-election was held in a peaceful and smooth manner, she said.

Over 85 per cent of the voters registered in Addis Ababa, Oromia and South Ethiopia Peoples state have turned out, according to a data so far collected by the Board.

The Board result of the by-election will be disclosed on March 11, 2011.
