Addis Ababa, February 27, 2011 (Addis Ababa) -
President Barackk Obama said America is keen to strengthen bilateral ties with Ethiopia.
Obama made the remark while receiving recently credential of the newly appointed Ambassador of Ethiopia to America, Girm Birru.
According to a press statement sent by a Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ENA on Sunday, Obama stressed the need to further enhance the relations between the two countries.
He said the US is desirous to bolster its ties with Ethiopia, which he said, has long history and unique culture.
Obama said America expressed his country's support to Ethiopia’s economic development.
He ale expressed appreciations to the effort being made by Ethiopia to ensure peace and stability in the Horn of Africa.
Ambassador Girma said on his part that the two countries has transformed their ties to strategic partnership in the last 20 years.
He thanked the US government for extending support to Ethiopia to its economic and social development.
