(Jan 15, 2013, mfa news)--The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Tedros Adhanom, visiting the United Kingdom last week met with members of the Ethiopian Community living in and around London.
Speaking on the occasion the Minister urged the Ethiopian Diaspora to stand together to promote the national interest of Ethiopia irrespective of their political persuasions.
He called for intensified engagement on the part of Diaspora Ethiopians to assist in the implementation of the major projects now being carried out including the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on the Abbay River, the railway network and the sugar factories.
These are now gaining momentum. The Minister also briefed the Diaspora on the government’s efforts to deliver on its promises in the areas of democracy, good governance, infrastructure and development in general. Members of the community praised the peaceful transition of power in Ethiopia and pledged to work with the government.
