NEW ORLEANS – Ethiopian runners captured the top two spots in Saturday’s Crescent City Classic run.
Twenty-year-old Belete Assefa took the men’s crown in the 10-kilometer race in 28:14.

A fellow countrywoman — 24-year-old Wude Ayalew — won the women’s title in the 6.2-mile race in 31:34.
About 20,000 people ran in the 33rd edition of the race.
