Ambassador Says Egypt Ready To Work With Nile Countries On River Issues

ADDIS ABABA, April 25 (BERNAMA-NNN-ENA) -- Egyptian Ambassador to Ethiopia Tariq Gahanom says the new Egyptian administration is ready to work closely with Ethiopia and other Nile riparian countries on issues concerning the Nile River

A FANA broadcasting agency report quoted him as saying that the new administration in Cairo wished to work in collaboration with other Nile riparian countries, including Ethiopia, for mutual benefit.

According to the ambassador, after former president Hosni Mubarak left the presidency, Egypt had set a new foreign policy of co-operation.

The new policy would assist Egypt to create good friendship with Ethiopia and the other Nile riparian countries, he noted.

The Ambassador expressed belief that the high-level meeting between the two countries due to be held soon would come up with symbiotic results.

He said relations of the two countries, especially in the political, economic and social sectors, were getting better.
