115th Victory of Adwa Celebrated Colorfully through out Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, March 2, 2011 (Addis Ababa) - The 115th Victory of Adwa in which Ethiopia defeated the Italian aggressing forces was celebrated colorfully on Wednesday through out Ethiopia.
Here in the capital, the day was celebrated in the presence of thousands of city residents, war veterans and government officials.

Addressing the crowd, Ethiopian Patriots Association Deputy President, Workineh Tegegn said Ethiopians celebrate the day with happiness as it is ane event that they heroically defeated the Italian invading forces.

He said King Minelik the II and his wife, Queen Taitu need to be remembered which lead Ethiopians to victory over the Italian aggressors which he said was the symbol of African independence.

He said the young generation should be able lift out the country from poverty and backwardness.

Federal Parliamentary Speaker, Abadul Gemeda laid a wreath on Minelik square in commemoration of the martyrs who died defending the territorial integrity of the nation
