Japan pledges to aid Africa's growth

(June 01, 2013, (CCTVAFRICALIVE))--Shinzo Abe, prime minister of Japan, said during the 5th annual Tokyo International Conference on African Development that his country will aid Africa's growth to the tune of 32 billion US dollars. 

The UN Sec Gen however took a cautionary tone urging the delegates to find long lasting solutions through addressing the links between, peace, security and development.

Fisheries Authority concerned by Ethiopian dam

(Apr 20, 2013, (Daily News Egypt))--Head of the Fisheries Authority Amani Ismail has warned of the threat posed to Egypt by the construction of a dam in Ethiopia. Writing on the authority’s official website, Ismail said: “There is no longer room for doubt that Egypt is facing a real disaster in the coming months.”

South Sudan signs oil pipeline deal to Djibouti via Ethiopia

US)--South Sudan has signed an agreement to build an oil pipeline to the port of Djibouti via neighbouring Ethiopia, officials said Thursday, after Juba shut down its only export route via former foe Sudan.
