Sisi receives Ethiopians returning from Libya at Cairo Airport
(May 07, 2015, (CAIRO))--President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received a number of Ethiopians returning from Libya at Cairo International Airport Thursday, as many Ethiopians began fleeing Libya after more than 25 of their countrymen were beheaded by the Islamic State group (IS) in April.

They were freed by Egypt’s security services from a militant group in Libya. (AFP)
Sisi’s move comes after Ethiopian Prime Minister Tedros Adhanom requested that Egypt helps evacuate Ethiopian nationals from Libya, diplomats have told Youm7. The Egyptian plane, boarded by the Ethiopian citiziens, came from Tunisia.
On Wednesday, Sisi met Tunisian chief of the presidential staff Reda Belhaj to discuss bilateral relations and the sitiuation in Libya.
After sour Egyptian-Ethiopian relations because of the Rennaisance Dam, the two countries have improved their ties by signing an initial agreement on the dam so it does not damage Egypt’s share of the Nile River water. Read more fromThe Cairo Post»
