(Jan 11, 2013, Austrian Times)--Two arrests have been made over the murder of an Austrian national murdered in Ethiopia as they took part in a tour of the Nile. The 27-year-old tourist from Upper Austria was robbed and murdered whilst holidaying in Ethiopia last week.
Now police in Ethiopia have arrested two suspects in the case. The two suspects were found to be in possession of clothing, money and other possessions belonging to the victim.
The two people arrested are thought to be part of a group of between ten and twenty people who robbed a group of Austrian tourists who were taking part in a rafting trip. The man was with another three Austrian nationals when the incident occurred but they managed to escape unharmed.
The four were attacked by robbers after spending the night camping on the banks of the Nile. The surviving members of the group have since returned to Austria.
