Peter Utaka is one player who is eager to register his name on the scorers sheet when the Eagles file out against Ethiopia on Sunday.

The Odense Boldklub of Denmark striker has made three appearances for the Eagles with only a goal to show for it. Against Ethiopia Utaka is hopeful that he would increase his goal tally and in the long run justify his inclusion by coach Samson Siasia.

“Though the team’s overall objective is to win against Ethiopian. I will hopeful put my name amongst the goals scorers,”said Utaka who topped the Danish league last year with 18 goals from 33 games.

He was frozen out of the team at the South African 2010 World Cup despite his goals credentials. Utaka was recalled by Siasia to the team last February for the friendly against Sierra Leone in Lagos, he roamed round the field without hitting the net.

Utaka acknowledged that thought football sometimes can be unpredictable, the Eagles will do everything to turn the tables against the Ethiopians.

“We are not a small nation. So I believe we can win against Ethiopia with a high margin if we want to do so. But at times you need all the elements in football including luck to be on your to make such happen and I hope all of those elements will be in place for us when we play on Sunday,” said Utaka.
