Ethiopian graduates 87 aviation technicians

Addis Ababa, March 24, 2011 (Addis Ababa) -The Ethiopian Airlines graduated here on Thursday 87 Aviation Technicians. Nine of the graduates are foreigners, who come from Mozambique, Chad and Namibia.

The training will enable the graduates to maintain with professional skills in airframe, power plant and different systems of aircraft operated by their national or other carriers.

The trainees have acquired sufficient theoretical and practical skills that qualify them in their career as aviation technicians.

While handing over diplomas to the graduates and awards to outstanding students, Ethiopian Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tewolde Gebremariam urged the graduates to serve the airline by applying the skill and knowledge they acquired.

Since its inception in 1969, Ethiopian graduated 2,828 Aviation Technicians.

Of the total graduates, 1997 are Ethiopians and the remaining 831 are nationals of 49 different countries of the world mainly from Africa and the Middle East.

Currently, the Ethiopian Aviation Academy is providing training to 226 students, of whom 28 are foreigners drawn from various African courtiers.
