(Jun 19, 2013, PesaTtimes))--Ethiopian Airlines has won in the "Best Airline Staff Service category in Africa" at the 18th annual Skytrax World Airline Awards. The awards - decided by 18.2 million passengers in 160 countries around the world - judge airlines on everything from the cleanliness of the cabin to the quality of the in-flight food and entertainment.
It is the most coveted and prestigious award in the airline industry. The announcement was made during the Skytrax World Airline Awards ceremony hosted at the 50th International Paris Air Show earlier today. Ethiopian Airlines also was ranked as the fifth "Most Improved Airlines" in the ranking. The Best Airline in Africa award goes to South African Airways for the 11th year in a row. South African is the only Skytrax Four-Star Airline in Africa.
Dubai based Emirates has been voted the world's best airline followed by Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines. Ethiopian Airlines is ranked as 85th best in the world. It was ranked 114 in 2012. Air Seychelles has jumped from 133 last year to 56 in this year's ranking, finishing second in Africa. Kenya Airways is ranked 93 in the world.
