(April 30, 2012 (Addis Ababa)--The
Ethiopian Aviation Academy graduated 20 pilots and 22 Aviation Maintenance
Technicians on Monday. Ethiopian CEO Tewolde Gebremariam handed over
diplomas to all graduates and flight wings to graduating pilots.
The newly graduated aviation maintenance technicians
have taken training with B373 aircrafts avionics system course which enabled
them to acquire sufficient theoretical and practical knowledge to qualify them
as aviation technicians.
Tewolde on the occasion said the aviation industry
is challenging and needs much care. He called up on the graduates to serve the airlines
with loyalty and integrity
Ethiopian is the leading airliner in Africa in
market share and widening its destinations, he said. The CEO said the graduates are expected to further
boost the longstanding reputation of the Airlines.
The academy has graduated more than 975 pilots and
3079 technicians since its establishment in 1956. Aviation maintenance Training School is enrolling
454 trainees of which ten of them are from Tanzania, Liberia Namibia and Saudi
Arabia.
Ethiopian Airlines, one of the largest and fastest
growing airlines in Africa, made its maiden international flight to Cairo in
1946 and with the new additional services to Seychelles and Cotonou, the
Airline will provide dependable services to 66 international destinations
spanning four continents.
