(September 06, 2011, SHARJAH)--Police is currently investigating the death of a 21-year-old Ethiopian maid who was found dead in her sponsor’s house in the Al Dhaid area, it announced on Monday.
According to a police source, it seemed that the woman had been tortured and stabbed to death as there were bruises in different parts of her body.
“It has been confirmed that there was foul play involved in her death as her body was bruised and she had clearly sustained injuries, proving that she was beaten to death. The body has been taken to the forensic laboratory for further investigation,” said the source.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that the maid was working with the family for only eight months and that there was another maid employed at the same house.
The police source said that currently, suspicions are revolving around someone who had gotten into a heated argument with the maid but police are unable to identify the killer until they have further evidence.
The source said police are still interrogating the deceased maid’s sponsor and her friends to find out more details about the crime.
