(September 14, 2011, CAIRO)--Ethiopia's Foreign Minister Haile Mariam Desalegn arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to attend the Egyptian-Ethiopian joint committee, the first in 17 years.

The committee will discuss co-operation between the two Nile-basin countries and boosting joint investments, according to Mona Omar, Egypt's Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs.
She said Ethiopia's top diplomat is in Cairo in preparation for an official visit by Meles Zenawi next week.
