(August 23, 2011 (Addis Ababa, ENA) - Ethiopia is land of investment opportunities and alternatives for foreign investors desiring to engage in agriculture sector, a visiting Indian Agriculture and Commerce delegation said.
The 34-member delegation held discussion here on Tuesday with members of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA).
Delegation Head, Ramakrishna Karuturi on the occasion said a good number of Indian investors have engaged in various investment sectors in Ethiopia due to availability of favorable situation for investment in the country.
Karuturi, who is also Founder and Managing Director of Karuturi Global Limited, said Ethiopia attracts investors as it is a country, which is endowed with untapped natural resources.
The country has various investment alternatives, he said, adding, its economy is fast growing in the Eastern part of Africa.
ECCSA President, Eyesuswork Zafu on his part said the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry to further promote trade and investment between Ethiopia and India.
The delegation also held talks with different government officials on ways how to boost bilateral economic cooperation taking into consideration mutual benefits.
Meanwhile, the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations - 2011/12 Business Directory was launched .
The directory includes data and relevant information on Ethiopia’s economy and investment.
