(August 22, 2011, Deerfield Beach, FL) -- At the end of August 2011, Dr. Ephraim Senbetta will be transferring from his responsibility for Quality Management and Sustainability for MAPEI's North American operations to supporting MAPEI's activities in Ethiopia and to teaching as a Fulbright Scholar at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia.

Dr. Senbetta will remain with MAPEI Corporation through August 2011 and afterward will work directly for MAPEI's global headquarters initially on a part-time basis while teaching at Addis Ababa University.

MAPEI is involved in multi-billion-dollar hydroelectric dam projects in Ethiopia in cooperation with Salini, an Italian construction company that has been working in Ethiopia.

Dr. Senbetta will support MAPEI's involvement in these major infrastructure construction projects in Ethiopia, where there is tremendous potential for MAPEI's Admixture and Concrete Restoration product lines.

Dr. Senbetta has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to teach and do research at Ethiopia's Addis Ababa University for the 2011-2012 academic year.

The course he will be teaching is titled "Behavior and Properties of Concrete," the subject of his Ph.D. work. He believes that this prestigious scholarship offers him an important opportunity to give back to the country where he was born and raised.
