Addis Ababa, April 18, 2011 (Addis Ababa, ENA) - Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said Ethiopia needs China’s support for the realization of Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP).
While conferring with Chinese Commerce Vice Minister Fu Ziying on Monday the premier said China’s support further be strengthened for the success of the plan.
He said urged the minister to share China’s vast experience especially in the construction of infrastructure like roads, railways, hydro electric power stations, among others.
The relation and cooperation of the two countries is in a good shape, PM Meles said added, the symbiotic
relations need to be enhanced to a higher level, according to Ministry’s Asia and Oceania Directorate Director general, Arega Hailu.
The premier commended the efforts China is exerting for China–Africa strategic partnership and on going construction of AU headquarters in Addis Ababa.
The officials have also discussed ongoing UN reform and current situation on North and Middle East and on international concerns, he said.
Zeyoung on his part said his discussion with PM Meles was as to how enhance the bilateral relations of the two countries specially trade and investments areas.
He expressed his government commitment to support the realization of Ethiopia’s GTP.
It was noted that China’s trade and investment participation has been increasing.China is establishing Industry Zone in East Oromia Zone of the country.
