(May 8, 2012, ADDIS ABABA, )--The World Bank is in the process of developing the next Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) FY13-FY16 for Ethiopia.
As part of the CPS preparation process and in order to gain a better
understanding of the development context and the needs of the ultimate
beneficiaries of World Bank support, the Bank is conducting
consultations with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the country
and abroad.

The Ethiopian Natalie Portman
(05/05/2012, Huffington post)--Two years ago, at the Toronto International Film Festival, I stood up and asked a daring question to actress Natalie Portman. I was covering the event for a local Ethiopian-Canadian newspaper
and knew she had recently visited the country. I asked her about
Ethiopian film making and if she had any future plans to take some of
her work there for a public showing.
47 Ethiopian ‘slaves’ rescued in sting
(May 7 2012, Pretoria News)--A GROUP of 47 Ethiopian men has been rescued from being sold into slavery by a human trafficking syndicate in Limpopo. The men were apparently snatched for ransom or, for those whose families couldn’t pay, to be sold into slavery in SA. It is alleged that fellow Ethiopians helped in the snatch. Police spokesman Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said the 47 men were in good health and being kept in a place of safety.
