Meles held discussion with Egyptian interim Prime Minister

(July 04, 2011, Addis Ababa)-Prime Minister Meles Zenawi held discussion with Egyptian interim Prime Minister Essam Sharaf on the ways to foster bilateral relationship.

The discussion made between the two leaders during the 17th African Union meeting in Equatorial Guinea, Malabo focused on the importance of holding a joint commission meeting as soon as possible.

The leaders also discussed on the invitation extended to Prime Minister Meles to visit Egypt by Sheriff when he visited Ethiopia in May 2011.

Meles also held discussion with United Kingdom’s (UK) Secretary of State for International Development Andrew Mitchell on the current affairs of Sudan and Somalia.

Mitchell said that UK supports Ethiopia for sending its peace keeping force to Abyie region in a bid to bring peace in the region. In addition, the two exchanged views on how to solve the political crisis in Libya.
