(April 29, 2011, Addis Ababa, ENA)--An international Music - Festival under the theme: “Music Without Boundaries” will be held in Ethiopia from 4 - 6 May 2011.
According to a press release GIZ sent to ENA on Friday, the purpose of the festival is to promote Ethiopia’s tangible and intangible heritage to the international community, safeguarding the national historical patrimony as well as experience sharing among a number of artists drawn from four continents of the world.
The festival hosts several famous national and international artists, who will be touring the country and playing in three of the Ethiopian cities, namely Addis Ababa, Harar and Gondar. The musicians will be coming from Africa, Europe, Asia and USA and will gather in Ethiopia for supporting the festival’s heritage-driven causes, the statement said.
Without class, political, ethnical or religious boundaries, artists from Ethiopia, Germany, Spain, Rwanda, Italy, Turkey, Israel, USA, among others, will join hands and partner with Addis Ababa, Harar and Gondar in bringing the past with the present into a brighter future, it said.
Ethiopian Airlines, Origin Purified Water, St. George Breweries and GIZ are major sponsors of the festival, according to the statement.
