Ethiopian to begin new flight to Kebredahar Town

Addis Ababa, March 13, 2011 (Addis Ababa) -
The Ethiopian Air Lines announced that it will start new flight to Kebredahar Town of Somali Regional State beginning from next Tuesday.


Domestic Flight Service Marketing and Sales Director General with Ethiopian, Abebe Angesa told ENA that Ethiopian will use new Q400 Bombardier aircrafts to start the flight.

Abebe said economic activities and the number of passengers has been growing in the State.

He said currently the Kebredehar Airport is capable to give service to the aircrafts.

The new flight to Kebredehar Town will be twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The flight to Kebredehar will increase Ethiopian's destinations in the state to three, he said, adding, it will also help to provide reliable air transport service coverage to the eastern part of the country.

Currently, Ethiopian flies 12 times a week to Jijiga and Gode Towns in the state. It flies to Jijiga on daily basis.

The director said Ethiopian has 210 domestic departure a week. Ethiopian gives domestic flight service to over half a million passengers annually.
