Addis Ababa, March 30, 2011 (Addis Ababa, ENA) - Ethiopia signed agreement with D.G. Khan Cement Company Ltd, which is one of the largest cement-manufacturing unit in Pakistan, to buy 150,000 metric tons of cement worth 12 million US dollars.
Public Procurement and Property Disposal Service Director, Yegezu Daba and D.G. Khan’s Sale and Marketing Director, Farid Fazzal signed the agreement here on Wednesday.
Yegezu on the occasion said some of the major cement factories have not completed their expansion projects. This has caused shortage of cement in the country.
According to him, the imported cement would enable to curb the shortage until next June.
Earlier this year the government had imported 250,000 metric tons of cement in two rounds to prevent the shortage.
