Ethiopia completes electricity transmission lines installation boosting ageneration

(Sep 14, 2016, (Africa Business Communities))--Ethiopia has finalized installation of transmission lines that will transfer power generated from the Ghibe III dam to the national grid in a landmark move that is set to boost electricity generation.

According to the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity the project has the capacity of generating 1870 Megawatts and had already supplied 800 megawatts with six turbines.

The project, the ministry further added, is the biggest Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) dams constructed by the nation. State Minister Eng. Wondimu Tekle saud that the dam helped nation to address shortage of power in 2008 E.C. Read more from Africa Business Communities »
