(Apr 24, 2013, (mfa))--LG Electronics on Tuesday (April 23rd) has announced a plan to inaugurate a Technical and Vocational Education and Training College in Ethiopia in September this year.
LG's Ethiopia office head and Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for the Middle East and Africa, Yong Geun Choi, said the college would be built at an initial cost of US $1 million and offer courses in information technology, electronics, television and mobile phone maintenance.
The college will also offer additional courses in agriculture. Its TV and mobile phone maintenance services will be specific to LG products but the rest of the courses on offer will be general. LG's College will accept 75 students into three departments for the first year of its two-year training courses.
LG has applied for 3,000 square meters of land in the Industrial Zone in Akaki’s Kaliti District, where it plans to build the college facility.
