(Apr 20, 2013, (Cairo))--Egypt’s Zamalek football team is at risk of early elimination in the African Champions League after it fell in a 1-1 draw at home against Ethiopia’s Saint George on Saturday.
The Egyptian team playing at Cairo’s Air Defense Stadium struggled in front of the Ethiopian players in the first half of the match, Ahram Online reported. The Ethiopian team created many goal scoring chances which could have resulted in them winning the clash.
Saint George’s Umed Ukuri has put his team ahead by scoring in the 67th minute. But Zamalek striker Abdoulaye Cisse scored a late equalizer in the 82nd minute, leaving the hosts with something to cheer about.
The current score leaves the Egyptian White Knights at risk of being eliminated from the champion’s first leg. They will need to win away from home fortnight to reach the group stage, the website added.
