(Mar 06, 2013, mfa News)--Ethiopia has received two of the nine vessels which are being constructed in China at a cost of US$300 million. Ato Ashebir Nota, Public Relations Head of the Maritime and Logistics Enterprise said the two vessels, named “ Assosa “ and Bahirdar”, will go into operation soon.
The construction of the remaining vessels will be completed within the current Ethiopian year. The Enterprise currently has signed agreements of agency with 31 Shipping agencies, and a fifty member delegation from these agencies has been visiting the Mojo and Gelan dry ports.
Ato Ashebir emphasized that the new ships will go a long way to help the growing import and trade of the country.
