(Nov 18, 2011, Digital Journal)--On Tuesday an Ethiopian housemaid died after her Kuwaiti employer beat her for a week. In a completely separate event on Thursday, an Ethiopian housemaid murdered her young Kuwaiti employer who was due to be a bride the next day.
A 25-year-old woman who was due to be married on Friday was found brutally murdered on Thursday night. The victim, a young Kuwaiti woman who has not been named, was discovered by her brother at her home in the Jaber Al-Ali district of Kuwait.
According to Emirates 247 she was allegedly murdered by the 28-year-old Ethiopian housemaid, who stabbed the victim in her bed before severing her head with an axe. The Arab Times says the murder took place at 11 p.m. and her body was found at 1 a.m.
The maid fled the house after disposing of the blood-stained axe in the garden, and headed to Kuwait airport. However airport security men began to question the maid as she appeared suspicious as she bore some injuries.
As she was questioned security was alerted about the murder and the maid was arrested before she could board her flight out of the country. The maid confessed to the crime when traces of the victim's blood were found on her but further interrogation is continuing to ascertain her motive.
Earlier in the week Migrants Right reported that an Ethiopian maid was murdered by her male employer in Kuwait. His motive was anger at her refusal to work which resulted in a week long beating that was so severe she died of internal injuries.
