URS investigates Ethiopian landslides

(03/10/2011, The Construction Index )--The Ethiopian Roads Authority has appointed URS Scott Wilson to carry out a detailed investigation of landslide-prone areas.

Although perhaps better known for its droughts, parts of Ethiopia experience significant rainfall and so landslides are a recurrent hazard on the country’s roads.

URS Scott Wilson will investigate, analyse and prepare stabilisation designs for 120 landslide-prone areas across the federal road network, undertaking detailed investigation at all the sites, the design of mitigation measures as well as the preparation of tender documents.
