Mugger, Ethiopian women thieves in police net

(Oct 7, 2011, ARAB NEWS)--Two Ethiopian women were arrested in south Jeddah on suspicion of stealing and pickpocketing from women shoppers in malls, police said.

“The suspects visited several shopping malls and souks around the city to steal from shoppers. They sold the stolen merchandise in the market. Items that were stolen included jewelry, cell phones and other valuables,” said Al-Juaid.

He said that investigators tracked down eight of the stolen cell phones. “Secret police arrested the two women inside a shopping mall in north Jeddah.

The suspects were transferred to a police station for questioning. They admitted to stealing from shoppers,” he added.
