Mikdad, Tsegaye Discuss Situation in Arab Region and Africa, Syrian-Ethiopian Relations

(Oct 22, 2011, ADDIS ABABA, (SANA)--Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad on Friday evening discussed with Ethiopia's Foreign Affairs State Minister Nega Tsegaye the situation in the Arab region and Africa and bilateral relations.

Mikdad detailed the events taking place in Syria during the past few months as a result of the US-western conspiracy against it, pointing out that Syria managed to overcome much of the conspiracy and foil the plots due to the Syrian people's rallying around the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad.

In turn, Tsegaye said that his country understands what is happening in Syria, stressing that national dialogue away from any foreign interference is the best way to resolve issues.

Earlier, Mikdad met with Commissioner of African Peace and Security Ramadan Al-Amamara, a number of Arab ambassadors and the Arab League representative in Addis Ababa, briefing them on the latest developments in Syria while they in turn voiced hope for achieving security and stability in Syria and implementing reforms successfully.
