(October 28, 2011 (Addis Ababa, ENA)--The Pilot Training School of Ethiopian Airlines graduated here on Thursday nine trainee pilots up on completion of commercial pilot’s course with instrument and multi crew ratings, the Ethiopian Airlines said in a press statement it sent to ENA.
According to the statement, the Ethiopian Aviation Academy offers qualified training for pilots, aviation technicians, cabin crew, marketing and service personnel for itself and other carriers mainly from African and the Middle East.
The Ethiopian said the graduates have taken a two-year pilot training courses consisting of 695hours of practical flight training on single and multi-engine aircraft.
Safety standards and ICAO level 4 English proficiency requirements were also part of the training.
According to the statement, the Ethiopian Aviation Academy offers qualified training for pilots, aviation technicians, cabin crew, marketing and service personnel for itself and other carriers mainly from African and the Middle East.
The Pilot Training School of Ethiopian Airlines has so far graduated 955 pilots since its inception in 1964. Some 635 of the trainees are reported to be Ethiopians.
