(September 10, 2011, LADERA HEIGHTS (KTLA)--Investigators are working to find out what caused a church in Ladera Heights to go up in flames Saturday morning.
Firefighters battled the blaze for 30 minutes but were unable to save one classroom and the church's meeting hall.
The main structure of the church was undamaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A fire broke out in the rear of St. Mary's Ethiopian Orthodox Church near Shenandoah and Slauson avenues around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, fire officials said.
