(Monday, August 22, 2011, Hurriyet Daily News)--Turkey is looking to sign an agreement with Ethiopia that would allow for a liberalization of the visa regime, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said Monday during a visit to Addis Ababa.
Davutoğlu met Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi during his visit to discuss bilateral economic relations; both reportedly agreed on the necessity to increase the number of mutual high-level visits. The Turkish foreign minister also updated Zenawi about Turkey’s activities in Africa.
Davutoğlu’s counterpart, Hailemariam Desalegn, meanwhile said Addis Ababa would welcome Turkish investments in Ethiopia. The two foreign ministers also agreed to have more frequent consultations on Somalia and Libya.
