(August 24, 2011, Addis Ababa, ENA)--The Ethiopian Airlines Aviation Academy graduated here on Tuesday 50 aviation maintenance technicians upon completion of 10-24 months of classroom. According to the airlines, the graduates were also provided on the job-training.
Some 27 of the trainees were trained on overall aircraft maintenance while the rest were in aircraft engine maintenance and technicians. Speaking on the occasion, Ethiopian Airlines Deputy CEO, Mesfin Tassew said Ethiopian needs higher number of human power due to its growing market.
Meanwhile, the Academy also graduated 38 cabin crew who were , trained in board service delivery, customer awareness, grooming and emergency procedures for two years.
According to Airlines, it has put in place wider program of training for pilots, technicians, hostesses and sales personnel in a bid to boost the industry. Currently Ethiopian is training 293 aviation technicians of whom 24 are foreigners.
