Suspect in Pentagon scare, military shootings due in court

(June, 23, 2011, LEESBURG, Va.)-The Military reservist whose suspicious behavior closed down roads around the Pentagon last week is expected to appear in court today.


Yonathan Melaku will face a Loudoun County judge Thursday on two unrelated larceny charges.

This comes one day after sources said that "strong evidence" connects the 22-year-old to a series of mysterious shootings at Northern Virginia military facilities, including the Pentagon, according to sources.

There were five shooting incidents and no one was hurt in the shootings.

He has not been charged in connection with the shootings.

The U.S. Attorney's office confirmed he has been under investigation since Friday's incident but wouldn't go into detail. Read more »
