Meles holds talks with Hillary Clinton

(June 13, 2011, Addis Ababa)- US Secretary of state Hillary Clinton held talks with Prime Minister Meles Zenawi on Monday.
The two sides discussed bilateral and regional issues.

They took note that there have been improvements in economic and business cooperation between the two countries.

Secretary Clinton said the US wants to see Ethiopia boost benefits from the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

The Secretary seized the moment to invite Ethiopia to host the 2013 AGOA Forum.

As regards security, the two sides agreed to continue collaborating in the fight against al-Qaeda and al-Shabab elements in the Horn of African region.

As per democratization in Ethiopia, Mrs. Clinton stated that there have been significant improvements.

The two sides also dwelt on the current developments in Somalia and the Sudan.
