HPR labels five groups as terrorists based on antiterrorism proclamation

(June 15, 2011, Addis Ababa, ERTA)-The House of People’s Representatives on Tuesday endorsed a resolution that labels three groups from within the nation and two foreign groups as terror forces that pose serious threat to the nation.

The House saw a short documentary that depicts the brutal terror acts that the groups, especially OLF, ONLF and Ginbot 7, inflicted in the country.

The documentary reveals how saddening the terror acts were as they killed and maimed civilians who had been busy doing their daily routines.  Some of those killed are people who went to petrol stations to buy fuel; some commuting to where they want to be.

Of course, some were killed while they were enjoying in hotels that are customarily safe to be around. In the middle of their joys, they found themselves severely crippled. Here comes a moment when the House and other concerned government institutions design to put in place a strategy that would not allow such terrorist attacks on our land.

OLF, the House, said is known to have killed civilians who were about to give birth, for throwing individuals over cliffs with their eyes tied and putting explosives on cars, rail ways and public institutions like schools and colleges.

Overall, OLF conducted around 106 terrorist acts in various areas and rattled the nation while it is busy to escape from poverty. ONLF caused a severe blow on a number of occasions including against a Chinese company, which was operating in Somali region trying to develop oil fields. They killed many and hurt the development aspirations of the region.

The other two groups that are named as terrorists as per the antiterrorism proclamation are Al Shabab and Al Qaeda. This is important as al Shabab gets supplements from al Qaeda sources.

What the entire House underlined is that the resolution helps the government to curb the eminent threats that happen to exist around the nation.
