(ADDIS ABABA, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Members of the Chinese Medical Team deployed in Ethiopia's rural hospital has carried out successful operation for a woman who had been suffering from advanced breast mass.
The medical team members who deployed in Tulu Bolo Hospital in Tulu Bolo town of the Oromia Regional State in Ethiopia have been carrying out several operations at the hospital including the complex one for a 42-year-old woman with breast mass.
Wu Minxian, the main surgeon told Xinhua soon after the operation that he along with his colleagues, has accomplished a successful surgery for a woman who suffered with the case for about two years.
"This morning we did an operation. The patient was 42-year-old lady with her right breast mass.
"The patient suffered a lot for this problem, and the history may be about two years; and the mass, the tumor is very big and it was not in early stage but it was in an advanced case; so, we did operation for this patient and the operation was successful and now the patient is stable and we took the patient to the ward.
"This is my first biggest operation in Ethiopia; and two months ago we came here and two weeks ago we just started operation here.
There was no anesthetist, no surgeon, and no operation before. So, when the Chinese doctor came here we have three doctors here one is surgeon, one anesthetist, and one pediatrician.
"We started operation given the local Dr. Geremew performs the gynecologist operation. So, we did operation and some minor operations. This is a very big operation, even in my country it is a big operation," said Wu.
Geremew Negash is a medical director of Tulu Bolo Hospital. He told Xinhua that members of the Chinese medical team deployed at his hospital are serving the local community with dedication.
Geremew said the Chinese medical practitioners are hardworking people; and they are available 24 hours to serve the community with great commitment.
"We have some three medical practitioners, who are serving in our hospital; who are really very kind and helpful in all the activities they handle and really I want to say thank you.
"They are really good, and they are professionals; and just we expect a lot from them to help this community as well as to bring improvement in our hospital. It is really admirable; they are friendly; and they are serving well; they are available 24-hours and whenever they are required," said Geremew.
Berhanu Feyissa, director for human resource development with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, told Xinhua that the Chinese medical team deployed in different parts of Ethiopia has been making huge intervention in the country's health services.
China has been deploying medical teams in two-year term in Ethiopia to serve in different parts of the country.
