Ethiopia's FM performs dance to honor Egyptian revolution

almasryalyoum, May 01, 2011
Ethiopian Foreign Minister Hailemariam Desalegn danced to a song chanted by an Ethiopian folkloric band about the Egyptian revolution and Tahrir Square on Saturday.

The performance took place during a dinner he held to welcome the Egyptian Popular Diplomacy Delegation that is visiting Addis Ababa to discuss the Nile water quotas crisis.

The Ethiopian ambassador to Cairo and the head of the Egyptian delegation also participated in the dance.

Ethiopian President Girma Wolde Giorgis received the delegation at the presidential palace and expressed his hopes for stronger bilateral relations after the revolution.

He told the delegation that Tahrir Square fondly reminds him of his great experience in Egypt when working in Cairo.

The delegation also attended Sunday mass, which was delivered by Ethiopian Orthodox Church Patriarch Paulos I.

The Egyptian delegation on Nile water issues includes 48 figures from the various political forces and the 25 January Youth Coalition.
