Addis Ababa, April 7, 2011 (Addis Ababa, ENA) - Prime Minister Meles Zenawi called on Korea Republic to cooperate with Ethiopia in the ongoing efforts to achieve the five-year Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP).
Meles here on Thursday discussed with a delegation ofKorea Republic led by Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Kim Sung Hwan.
The Premier on the occasion called onKorea Republic to participate and share its rich experiences with Ethiopia in infrastructure development in particular in the construction of roads and railways, agriculture, mining and technology transfer.
Meles also expressedEthiopia 's desire to draw experiences of developmental state from the Korean government and briefed the delegation on investment alternatives in Ethiopia .
The Premier also briefed the delegation on investment alternatives inEthiopia and expressed the country's desire to further strengthen existing relegations in the economic, science and technology sectors, according to a Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dina Mufti.
Meles also announcedEthiopia 's plan to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of Korean War in which it took place, the Spokesperson said.
Kim Sung Hwan on his part said the discussion with the Premier focused on economic relations between the two countries.
The Minister said the delegation discussed with the Premier in particular on ways to cooperate in agriculture, business, service and technology transfer sectors, among others.
Diplomatic relation between the two countries had begun in 1963.
The relation is getting strengthened following the visit of Prime Minister Meles toSeoul in 1998.
Ethiopia participated in the Korean War ( 1950-1953) under the flag of the United Nations.
