(April 20, 2011, Addis Ababa)-- Ethiopian Airlines received on 11 April 2011 the "Deal of the Year 2010" award from Air France Journal, a leading financial magazine serving the commercial aviation industry worldwide, the Airline said.
According to the statement it sent to ENA on Wednesday, Ethiopian won the award in the African category for the package deal to finance its five B777-200LR aircrafts and a spare engine.
It said the Airline's profitable business and good history of repaying loans contributed to the award.
Ethiopian has received three brand new 777-200LR aircrafts so far, it said, adding, the 4th and 5th aircrafts will come in April and July 2011.
According to the statement, Ethiopian is the first carrier inAfrica to operate the ultra long range and environmental friendly 777-200LR aircrafts.
