Ethiopia, Malaysia sign new Air Transport Agreement

Addis Ababa, April 21, 2011 (Addis Ababa, ENA) Ethiopia and Malaysia here on Thursday signed a new bilateral agreement on Air-Transport, the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority said.

Planning Director of Air Transport with the Authority, Endeshaw Yigezu and his Malaysian counterpart, Datuk Hj. Kamaruzaman signed the agreement.

The agreement will strengthen bilateral relations of the two countries , General Director of the Authority, Col. Wosenyeleh Hunegnaw said on the occasion.

The volume of trade exchange between the two countries is getting strengthened from time to time.

The agreement will also contribute share to further enhance the existing cooperation of the two countries, the director said.

Datuk Hj. Kamaruzaman on his part said the agreement will have mutual benefit for both sides.

The agreement will play significant role to accelerate development of both parties, he said, adding, it will also create some opportunities for the Ethiopian Airlines to expand its flight destinations in Southeast Asia.
