Shire Endasillsie, April 5, 2011 (Shire Endasillsie, ENA) - Foreign, Defense and Security Affairs Standing Committee of the House of Peoples' Representatives visited three refugee camps in Tigray State, which accommodate over 29,100 Eritrean refugees.
The Committee appreciated the housing, food, education, safe water and health services given to the Eritrean refugees.
The Committee urged the Refugees and Returnees Affairs Administration to closely work together with stakeholders in order to conserve the forest.
Administration North Eritrea Zone Refugees Coordinator, Kebede Aboneh on his part said the number of Eritrean refugees has been increasing.
He said over 5,200 Eritrean migrants entered inEthiopia between September 2010 and January 2011.
The Coordinator said more than 5,000 of the total of over 29,100 refugees have managed to leave forU.S.A. and other countries.The Committee also appreciated the participation of Eritrean refugees in the water and soil preservation work with a view to strengthen the people to people relation.
