Nation’s investment policy attracting FDI: Ambassador

Addis Ababa, March 23, 2011 (Addis Ababa) -Indian ambassador to Ethiopia Bhagwant Bishnoi said Ethiopia is an ideal nation for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

The House of Federation Speaker, Kassa Tekleberhan held discussion with the ambassador on bilateral issues here on Tuesday.

The Speaker said Ethiopia and India enjoyed the age-long and historical ties.The two countries have similar features as they are federal state.

The ambassador on his part said owing to the conducive investment policy of Ethiopia, Indian investors are attracted and engaged in agriculture and textile sectors, among others.

The Ambassador said the India-Africa Summit to be held here in May is expected to further strengthen the bilateral relations of the two countries.

Indian delegation including Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and a number of African countries as well as representatives of international organizations are expected to take part in the Summit.
