(Thursday 10, Mar, 2011, Dubai)-Three men had sex with two women at a hotel in Dubai and then kicked them out of the room semi-naked, Dubai Court of First Instance heard.
The men - two Brits aged 24 and 26 and a South African aged 28 - met the women, both Ethiopian, at a plush hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road.
They later went back to the men's room, where they started drinking booze and had sex, the court was told.
"A dispute broke out between the five people about money and one of the British men raised a knife and threatened the women," a Dubai police officer said in the court records.
"He chased them out the room and threatened to kill them. The girls ran to security and told them that they had been raped."
The court heard that CCTV showed the man chasing after the two women.
A manager at the hotel said: "The reception called me and said two women had come to the desk crying and repeating that they had been raped.
"They were scared and almost naked."
The police were called to the incident, which happened in June last year, and questioned the two women.
They told officers that the men had threatened them at knifepoint, made them take off their clothes and then raped them. They also claimed the men had stolen Dhs5,000 from one of their bags.
The men, though, claimed the sex had been consensual.
The three men were jailed for two months at court on Thursday for consuming alcohol and having an illicit affair. They will be deported after serving the sentence.
The women failed to show at court and were sentenced in absentia to two months in jail and deportation for the same charges.
