Ethiopians now can become internationally certified auditors

(March 28, 2011, Capital)--For the first time in Ethiopia there are internationally certified Ethiopian tutors who are qualified to deliver a lead auditor course approved by the International Register of Certified Auditors.  

Lead auditor training was given by DQS management service plc. The training was conducted in affiliation with the Malaysian IQCS certification.  IQCS is the auditor training organization approved by the International Register of Certified Auditors in the United Kingdom.

Twelve trainees participated in the training. Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise, Guna trading, IPS, PSI Ethiopia, Adama Spinning Factory are some of the companies represented.

All of the course leaders are highly qualified professional graduates in various disciplines, familiar with the local environment and are internationally recognized professional auditors, consultant and practitioners. All
leading trainers and tutors are approved by the International register of certified auditors.
“It was an intensive training course,” said the manager of DQS Alemayehu Belete.

The course is internationally recognized and certified by the IRCA. The course equips delegates with knowelede and skills required to perform first, second and third party audits of management systems against a regulation known as international standards such as , in accordance with ISO 19011.

Students who successfully complete this ISO 9000 series audit/ lead audit course certified by IRCA will satisfy the training requirement for initial certification as an IRCA QMS 2000 auditor.

DQS is an IQCS training partner and official affiliate company incorporated under the laws of Ethiopia. Established two years back. It is committed to designing and developing high caliber qualification in management systems.  It has certified 10 companies and awarded 24 certificates in Ethiopia so far.
