PANCHKULA: A high level Ethiopian delegation led by Esayas Bahire Gebremeskel, president, Development Bank of Ethiopia visited Industrial Model Township (IMT) Manesar Distt. Gurgaon in order to get first hand idea of the world-class industrial infrastructure developed by the State's nodal agency Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC).
The Ethiopian delegation appreciated the concept of Industrial Model Township and infrastructure created by HSIIDC at IMT Manesar and sought cooperation between two sides for the development of similar projects more particularly food parks in their country. The visit will also be followed by the visits by the representatives of various African nations.
The above development is the result of an interactive session of Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Haryana chief minister with the heads of missions of various African nations viz. Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Congo, Angola, Senegal etc. in Delhi to discuss the possibility of a Joint Agri Business Relations with African nations.
During the meeting, Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that there was a great potential of mutual cooperation and strengthening of bilateral relations between Haryana and African countries. He said that the Haryana government would extend full cooperation and exchange of technical knowledge in the possible areas of agriculture production, horticulture, irrigation, food processing, education and development of industrial estates in African countries. He invited the delegation of farmers from the participating countries to visit Haryana for witnessing latest agricultural technologies being used in the State and offered the technology of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems being used in the arid areas of the State.
The High Commissioner of Uganda, Minisha Jayat Madhvani invited Haryana Chief Minister, Hooda to visit Uganda and Haryana State to participate in the trade fair schedule to be held in Uganda in the month of October 2011 to exhibit Haryana's excellent achievements in the field of agriculture and latest agricultural technologies being used in Haryana for increasing the agricultural production.
