Hawassa, February 14, 2011 (Hawassa) - Various development activities are underway through food security program in South Ethiopia People State at a cost of more than 60 million birr, State's Agriculture Bureau said.
Bureau communication process expert, Endalemaw Tesera told ENA that more than 10,000 farmers and households are taking part in the program.
He said the development activities are being undertaken in resettlement woredas including Menit, Shasha,Gura and Ferda as well as in Decha and Konta special woredas.
He said the development work includes the construction of 195 km and 45 water and other social and economic facilities.
The program carried out over the past years enabled farmers to improve productivity and ensure food their security, he said.
