2012 Ethiopia's Fantu Magiso wins women's 800m race in Rome

(May 02, 2012)--Fantu Magiso set a national record when she surprised at the Diamond League in Rome on May 31st by winning the women's 800 meter race.

She outpaced the likes of South Africa's Caster Semenya. Ethiopia are not known for their short distance runners but this year Mohammed Aman and Fantu have set Ethiopia's mark on the men and women's 800 meter competitions.
